Your wedding at Powerscourt House
(By Maria, The Event Design Company)
Inspired by a real Princess
If you’re looking for an elegant, timeless theme for your own upcoming wedding, surely a real royal couple’s visit to Ireland can serve as your inspiration.
This photoshoot was heavily influenced by Princess Grace and Prince Rainier’s visit to attend “Le Bal de Petits Lits Blancs” held in very same Powerscourt House in 1965.
In keeping with that historic event’s style and glamour, we opted for a classic and romantic theme that hinted at a royal occasion yet avoided any fussiness or obvious royal wedding cues.
Making her as eye-catching as Princess Grace was that day, our bride’s stunning wedding dress from Marian Gale was augmented with an elegant Kinnor headband made from dozens of flowers individually hand-wired onto a silver double band, wrapped with satin ribbon. Graciously allowing his bride to be the belle of the ball, the groom looked elegant and understated in a stunning royal blue velvet dinner jacket from Louis Copeland.
The luxurious, royal blue theme was also carried over into the table’s rich and vibrant blue and gold colour scheme. It features tapered Ester & Erik candles as well as exquisite stationery from Calligraphy by Laura.
The couple, table and event were styled by Maria from The Event Design Company.
If you are hoping to get married in a luxury wedding venue, remember Powerscourt House is not only one of Ireland’s most unique and gorgeous venues, it’s one fit for a Prince and Princess / with a little royal history
