“A few months ago, fine art photographer Wim from In Love Photography approached me about collaborating on an elegant and romantic photoshoot in the newly refurbished Markree Castle in Co. Sligo.
As soon as I saw the stunning reception room, I was blown away by it’s luxurious French style with gilded gold, panelling, and grey blue walls with natural light streaming through the large doors and windows which overlook the gardens.
I knew that Wim, who has photographed in Ireland, but also in chateau’s across the South of France could capture the magic and lightness I envisioned and more.
Having never seen anywhere else like this in Ireland, I was immediately inspired to create a palette that would echo the magnificence of this romantic setting. I chose soft tones of blush, white, and warm hints of coffee. Using luxurious Spring blooms ranging from scented sweet pea, ruffled ranunculus, David Austin Garden roses and the most beautifully coloured rose cafe latte. The floral centrepieces on the dining table were complemented with figs, grapes, gilded glassware, silk blush napkins and candlelight from tall tapered berry candles.
Laura from Calligraphy by Laura, designed and created the bespoke stationery suite using handwritten gold font on embossed cotton paper.
We chose dress designer Caiomhe Keane from Que-Va to design a soft timeless flowing Mulberry silk charmeuse dress with silk cotton lining, available in certified Organic silk. Ca paired this with a head piece available to order from Que-Va, and a hand embroidered soft tulle veil also designed by Caiomhe.”
