A Stress Free Wedding Day with a Timeline

Have  a stress free wedding day by creating timeline

One of the easiest ways of having a stress free wedding is to work with a timeline for your wedding day in conjunction with your vendors.

Of course your wedding planner will do this for you but it is not a bad idea to think about one yourself in the early planning process.

For this you have to think about each individual aspect of your wedding and ask your vendors how much time their service will take.

Your timeline is a guide and it is extremely rare that a wedding will hit every time point :

The cocktail hour is delayed because the guests had so much fun.. The kitchen was delayed so we had the last call a little bit later…

The start and finish are key inbetween is flexible..

•A few questions to ask in relation to your wedding photography and the timeline :

-When is sunset on your wedding day?

The golden hour has the best light of the day for your wedding photo’s

The light is warm and soft and will create an amazing ambient.

To find out when the sunset will be you can use different websites, apps or ask your photographer.

-When should we take our wedding photo’s?

Will we have a portrait session before or after the ceremony?

In addition to the golden hour you should also think about setting side some time for your couple photo’s, your bridal party photo’s and your family portraits.

For your family photo’s it is best to make a list of all the family photo’s you need and calculate about 5 min per photo. Also let everybody who is on the list know in advance.. Otherwise it can take a while to gather everybody together.

This is a sample timeline for a wedding at 4 O’clock :

  • 10:00am—Hair and Makeup/Getting ready
  • 12:00–2:00pm—Most vendors arrive for setup
  • 2:00pm—Wedding party and family photos start
  • 3:30pm—Doors open/Guests begin to arrive/Pre-ceremony music starts
  • 4:15pm—Ceremony starts
  • 4:45pm—Ceremony ends
  • 5:00pm—Cocktail hour starts
  • 5:45pm—Move guests into dinner
  • 6:00pm—Buffet opens/Dinner served
  • 6:20pm—Food is served
  • 8:00pm—Second set of golden hour portraits
  • 9:00pm – Speeches
  • 10:00pm – Dancing
  • 01:00am—Music finishes
